Founded on August 21, 2014, Annual National Eat Fritanga at FIU Day was created on a simple premise: life gets busy, careers send us in different directions, and distance grows—but friendship anchors us.
Every year on August 21st, our founding circle and extended members clear their schedules and return to FIU to eat Fritanga together. It is an annual homecoming to celebrate where we started and preserve our bond through good food and great memories.
August 21st is sacred. No matter where life takes you, you make every effort to return to FIU on this date.
Every single year requires an official group photo before leaving to preserve the holiday archives.
Recurring member attendance is reviewed annually by the Founding Board to maintain active status.
A designated Founding Member must check in to FIU on Facebook with the group photo and caption: "Our #th Annual National Eat Fritanga at FIU!"
